Trish McCallan can write. Really, really well. With humor, intrigue, fast-paced action and satisfying (& hot) romances Ms. McCallan's style keeps you glued to a book. Her heroes are alpha yummy while their mates are strong, intriguing counterparts. The paranormal aspects in this series, to my mind, are extremely well done and add another layer of intrigue to an already incredible set of stories.I discovered Ms. McCallan when I got one of her enovellas free. A smart marketing tool for Ms. McCallan. I've been hooked ever since that freebie.
This whole series has been dynamite (including the novellas).
After reading Forged In Ember, I reread the first three novels (multiple rereads) and the first two are still my favorites. Forged in Ember was probably my least favorite, but still a fitting conclusion to an awesome series. My least favorite because I really never warmed to Amy. The woman-hating Mac was more humorous to me than annoying, but Amy remained an uninteresting contradiction.
I give this last installment of the Red-Hot SEALs series a 4 & a half stars and the first three each a 5.
Ms. McCallan is an incredible storyteller who gives her readers well-developed characters within a carefully plotted, unique story. I wish her success with her writing career.

Forged in Ember A RedHot SEALs Novel Book 4 edition by Trish McCallan Romance eBooks Reviews
I waited so long for Forged in Ember. Mac and Amy fascinated me when I was reading the other books in the series.
They both had a tale to tell. What a story. The series of events unleashed on Amy's life were harsh, unspeakable and traumatic as hell, yet she carried on.
Mac is a loner, after his childhood and ex-wife, he prefers it that way. Along came Amy, who was like no other woman he had ever come across. She was strong and just carried on.
She crept in under his skin. He crept in under hers.
This is their story of re-building their lives, fighting for their lives, sacrifices and love.
Brilliant!! Told as only Trish can.
I have been dancing since this book came out! It was a long time coming but oh so worth the wait! I have read and re-read this series several times waiting on this one. I always try and go back to re-read at least the book before when any sequel book is coming out so I am aware and current and don't feel like I am missing information. This can be stand alone but I strongly urge you to read the first three or you will not understand the true obstacles and dangers the main couple has overcome to have a chance at Love. Action packed drama, longing, adventure, explosions, steamy tension and the search to find a cure to save two young boys lives. Pack your bags and head to the comfy couch with a hot cup of tea, your staycation is calling!
It feels like I have been waiting forever for Forged in Ember to be released, but it was worth the wait. You can probably read it as a stand-alone, however I’d recommend reading the first 3 before it to truly understand the characters, storyline, etc.
This book is centered around Amy and Mac. I love how their characters have evolved through the series. Amy has had to endure so much as a woman and mother. I like how strong and determined she is. Mac has many preconceptions about women based on his past. I’m glad that Amy’s honesty, loyalty, intelligence, and strength pierced through his stubbornly locked up heart.
Something I really appreciate throughout the book is the use of descriptive language. It’s very easy to imagine what the author is writing about. In addition, I enjoyed that each character has their own distinctive voice and personality that shines through. Not all authors are able to do that when they write.
In the book there were medical, scientific, and Native American concepts incorporated. I cannot attest to the accuracy of these, but by based on how detailed it was written, it was evident that Trish McCallan spent a lot of time and effort researching. I respect and appreciate that.
I love the Red -Hot Seals series and Its very sad to know that Forged in Embers was the last book in this saga. This story was great. It answered all my questions and finally gave Mac and Amy a happy ever after. The book draws you in from the 1st because we have all been waiting to find out what happens! I am hoping her next series with Wolf and Jillian will also give us a glance at the original players. I was disappointed that I didn't find out what happens to Marion as she is such a fun character. I can't wait for Trish's new stories to start. I want to read more and more from this wonderful author!
World domination, mystical healings, pulse pounding storyline, and too many what the hell moments to count. A definite five star read the will take you on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs that is worth every minute of your time.
I have read and reread the Red Hot Seals series too many times to count; this long awaited book four has me dancing with joy.
Commander Jace (MAC) Mackenzie is one of my favorite woman hating characters of all time. His disdain for women and reluctance to believe what Zane is telling him in Forged in Fire sets up a character that has endured and steals quite a few scenes. I am looking forward to his fall LOL. Desperate to avenge the death of Admiral McKay and clearing his men’s name has him frustrated.
Amy Chastain is one ball busting heroine and the loss of her husband in Forged in Fire has set her on a path of vengeance she refuses to turn from. Hatred burns bright as the fate of her children hangs in the balance.
The start of the book “Sitrep” gives a great synopsis of the Red Hot Seals to date; and sets up a fast paced read that has you hanging on for the ride of your life.
